Here’s how it looks in print:

There is a building fire at the Round Tower building on the corner of South Gippsland Highway and Round Tower Road in Dandenong South.

CFA crews have managed to contain the fire but there is a large amount of smoke in the area. An advice message has been issued for Bangholme, Dandenong, Dandenong South, Doveton, Eumemmerring, Hallam, Hampton Park, Lynbrook.

All southbound lanes are closed near Greens Road. Emergency services are directing traffic. Avoid the intersection. Alternatives include the South Gippsland Freeway or Hammond Road.

A man has been stabbed twice in a fight near a railway station in Noble Park.

Police believe two groups of up to 15 men were involved in a brawl on Douglas Street about 9pm yesterday. The victim was driven to a nearby ambulance station before being taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Hello. We’re back to Monday. It’ll be a relief to be in the office after a chilly weekend. Slightly warmer top of 17 forecast for today; cloudy this morning with the chance of a light shower. It’s just under 14 degrees in the city right now.

A month of disruptions on the trains starts, part of a building blitz for Metro Tunnel works. They’re easing us in, with delays on only one line. Frankston commuters will be on the buses between Mordialloc and Frankston.

It’s not a great start for Metro though, with other non-building-related delays on the Hurstbridge and Glen Waverley lines. The Hurstbridge delays are being caused by a power fault in Macleod. Buses will «supplement» trains.
