Man dead after being shot by police in West Australian Wheatbelt

A 33-year-old man has died after being shot by police at a home in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt.

Police shot the man after attending a property in Mooliabeenee, near Gingin, just before 3pm Thursday.

St John Ambulance took the man in critical condition to St John of God Hospital, Midland, where he has since died.

His family has been informed.

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the Internal Affairs Unit will also conduct a separate inquiry.
