Carlton are breathing a sigh of relief with young gun Charlie Curnow cleared of structural damage to his right knee.
However scans have confirmed that the Blues forward suffered bone bruising early in the loss to Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, with Curnow expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks because of the injury.
Curnow didn’t return to the field after going down with the injury during the first quarter of Port’s 16-point win. The exciting tall last year recommitted to the Blues until the end of 2023 however he has started 2019 slowly.
Having begun the season with consecutive losses, Carlton host Sydney at Marvel Stadium on Saturday before games against Gold Coast (Metricon Stadium) and the Western Bulldogs (Marvel).
After recent injury issues, Jack Silvagni and Matt Kennedy both put their hands up for senior recalls with strong showing for the Northern Blues on Saturday.
