Autumn finally arrives with a chilly morning in the south-east

It was finally time to wear a scarf in Brisbane on Sunday morning, with temperatures plummeting to 15 degrees in the city for the first time this year.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Adam Blazak said Sunday had been Brisbane’s coldest morning since November 10.

The coldest part of the state on Sunday morning was at Applethorpe on the Granite Belt where the mercury dropped to a chilly 6.5 degrees — their coldest morning since October 3.

«That was a drop of 10.4 degrees on Saturday’s minimum, which was 16.9 degrees,» Mr Blazak said.
