AFL live round nine: Pies v Saints, Lions v Crows

There’s a lot to play for at the Gabba with the Brisbane Lions aiming to temporarily re-enter the top four and Adelaide to retain their spot in the top four as they chase their fifth win in a row.

A loss for the Lions could actually see them slip out of the top eight after such a bright start to the season.

Collingwood are looking to consolidate their place in the top two today as they hunt their sixth win in a row while St Kilda are aiming to stay in touch with the top eight after three consecutive losses.

The Saints actually have a decent recent record against the Magpies, winning two of their last three meetings including their last date at the MCG back in 2016.

Collingwood are 4-1 at the MCG this year while St Kilda have won their only match there in 2019 so far against Melbourne.

Collingwood have suffered a massive double blow in the lead-up to their meeting with St Kilda with star duo Darcy Moore (ankle) and Jordan De Goey (shin) both being replaced in their selected side by James Aish and Rupert Wills who gets a reprieve after initially being dropped.

Hello and welcome to another huge Saturday of live AFL action!

We hope you’ve already cast your votes and got your democracy sausages so you can now sit back and enjoy eight hours of wall-to-wall footy.

Will Australia have a different government during Essendon v Fremantle later tonight to the one it had during the day when Collingwood were still tackling St Kilda? We will have to wait and see!

The first two games of Election Day 2019 see the Magpies face the Saints at the MCG and the Brisbane Lions host Adelaide at the Gabba.

The twilight game pits Geelong against the Western Bulldogs at Kardinia Park while the night games see the Bombers meet the Dockers at Marvel Stadium and North Melbourne take on Sydney in Hobart.
